Alyson Marlow
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get started?
Schedule a free 15-minute phone consultation so that we may discuss your needs and determine whether we would be a good fit. You may call (415) 949-1589, or email info@marlowtherapy.com, or use the form provided to get started.

Second, after the consultation, if you are ready to start therapy, we will discuss a regular time to meet and I will send you the consent form through a platform called Simple Practice to complete prior to your first appointment. You’re all set!

Do you work with kids or teens?
Yes! Much of my work experience has been around working with teens and children. I enjoy working with youth.

Do you take insurance?

At this time, I do not accept insurance and am considered an out of network provider. I’d be happy to provide you an invoice of your monthly statements so you may submit a claim to your insurance for reimbursement.

I can’t afford therapy OR my insurance doesn’t reimburse for an outside provider.
What are my options?
I would be happy to discuss a sliding scale fee with you during the free consultation. A sliding scale means that I would adjust the therapy fee to make it more economical. It is a case-by-case decision and availability is limited. Don’t let the current rate stop you from investing in yourself and your health.
What is your cancellation policy?

Cancellations and re-scheduled sessions will be subject to a full session fee if not received at least 24 hours in advance. I can be reached by text or email to make schedule changes.

What types of payment do you accept?

I currently accept credit, Venmo or Zelle.

What is your confidentiality policy?

All identifiable client information and everything discussed remains confidentiality. However, there are conditions at which I am mandated by law and ethically bound to break confidentiality and take the necessary precautions to prevent harm or danger.

This includes if there is a risk of imminent danger to my client or another person; or if there’s suspicion of abuse to a child, dependent adult, or elder. Once this information has been disclosed, I am legally required to take the steps necessary to protect the parties involved.
